About Us

Welcome to Simpson Primary School

VIRTUAL TOUR

Simpson Primary School was officially opened in 1972 to cater for the students of the Heytesbury Land Settlement.

The school’s 2024 enrolment is currently 56 students catered for in 3 classes. The majority of students are bussed in from the surrounding dairy farming areas.

Our 17 hectare site is a true reflection of grand rural environment. The extensive grounds are on the southern side of the Simpson township. The majority of our students access our school bus network to travel to and from school from surrounding farmlands. The grounds are largely maintained by the parents using a monthly roster. The grounds include the school's own native tree plantation.

The internal of the main building has been extensively refurbished in recent years to increase the size of the classrooms and provide a more open learning environment. The separate Art Room has also been refurbished to include a kitchen for use in our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.

The school's Early Childhood Learning Centre provides a strong partnership between the broader community and the school, providing opportunities and participation in education from birth with programs being provided through cooperation with the Corangamite Shire and other agencies. Families have access to 3 & 4 year old kindergarten, maternal health and playgroup.

Our Kinder to Prep transition program happens annually (usually term 3 & 4).

The school is committed to continuous improvement in teaching & learning and has a focus on dedicated literacy and numeracy teaching blocks supported by ICT, student goal setting and student led interviews to cater for the individual needs of students.
